Contingency Management Plan (CMP)
The Contingency Management Plan delineates emergency response procedures to tackle severe contingencies such as cyber attacks, portal defacement, database corruption, or catastrophic hardware/datacenter outages.
1. Disaster Recovery & Backup Strategy
- Daily Automated Backups: Incremental database backups and daily snapshot images stored in geo-redundant, encrypted cloud storage.
- Recovery Time Objective (RTO): Maximum allowable portal downtime during an outage is targeted at under 2 hours.
- Recovery Point Objective (RPO): Maximum data loss window targeted at less than 1 hour.
2. Defacement Handling Protocol
In the improbable event of website defacement, the portal is immediately diverted to an isolated, static Emergency Maintenance Holding Page. The server instance is isolated for forensic investigation, the latest authenticated codebase is redeployed from secure version control, and incident reporting is lodged with CERT-In and the Ministry of Defence within mandated timeframes.
